For my Georgia LEO Family-Blood and Blue

by Theresa Garcia Robertson

Good Morning Sweet Family,

I don’t know about you, but when I hear of any story where a LEO life was lost, I ache for the family, both blood and blue. And every time that the sad news pops up on my google news feed or on Facebook I wonder how soon it will be before it hits home. With the news of our APD family losing two of their own on Sunday morning, it dawned on me…”This is home.”

We all know LEOs in the Greater Atlanta area. Randy and I have friends and neighbors who serve in Atlanta but live here in Columbus/Harris County. As active members of the Fraternal Order of Police, some of our dearest friends have served with APD or a neighboring agency. So, this is home.

This morning we are grieving the loss of two brave souls who died with honor. I have cried for their children and their significant others. I have prayed over them since last night. I am convinced that the Lord is in control and believe his promise that though the weeping may last through the night, JOY comes in the morning. It may not be this morning or tomorrow morning or any morning in the near future, but God promised us it would come and I trust Him at his word.

Heads up, LEO Family. Stay safe, stay alert, wear your vests (both bullet proof and the armor of God), and come home in one piece. As your family, we won’t let you walk alone and that is the same {perfect} promise that God has made to us.
